MORTEN VISKUMSon Espace Gallery presents at Berliner Liste two ongoing projects of the Norwegian artist Morten Viskum . He will show an installation entitled ...The Perfect Sculpture... that is part of the artist...s project: ...Self-Portraits..., in which every year on his birthday, Viskum commissions from a world recognised specialist, a life-size copy of himself in epoxy. Then, the artist turns the replica into a sculptural installation project where the figure, according to the role that the artist determines, is presented to the viewers. The Perfect Sculpture...s body is completely based on the famous German bodybuilder Gunter Schlierkampf....The Dead Hands... is an ongoing series of paintings in which the artist uses a dead human hand as a paintbrush, it consists of three artwork series: The Hand that Never Stopped Painting, The New Hand, and The Black Hand, each one of them corresponding to a different hand. | |
