MiTO's program is devoted to promoting and spreading the newest trends of international contemporary figurative art, freshly conceptual and way beyond any academic, ordinarily stereotyped iconographic attitude. Particularly attentive to supporting young emerging artists whose work evinces the infinite possibilities that non-conventional creative media and techniques offer to contemporary visual arts, MiTO favours independent curatorial projects that reject the anachronistic and overly schizophrenic dichotomy between the figurative and the conceptual and encourage alternative readings of conventionally codified narratives, objects or subjects. MiTO...s exhibit at Berliner Liste focuses on the challenging infinite possibilities that novel plastic techniques offer to contemporary visual arts, specifically uniting the independent positions of 4 emerging artists (Anthony Gayton, Luis Vidal, Marina R. Vargas and Nebojsa Bezanic) whose individual work embodies this same basic idea and profile. | |
