Piekary Gallery Project
For several years Leszek Knaflewski, Kamil Kuskowski and Aleksandra Ska have been present in Polish art, taking part in significant exhibitions in Poland and abroad. They have awoken a significant interest in the Vienna Fair 2007 and Berliner Liste 2007 and consequently received an invitation to the “Objecthood” exhibition at the Hardcore Contemporary Art Space in Miami. The program we offer for the Berliner Liste 08 fair focuses on the presentation of three critical attitudes concerning different subjects: the mechanics of desire, based on the exchangeability and wear of organs in the “Work sucks“ by Ska; a teasing game between the realm of abstraction and a concrete burden of tradition in the history of art in a series of book paintings in Kuskowski’s “Painting feast“ cycle and, finally, the problem of a clash between the conventional and creative ideas of the role of an object in art, exemplified by the Knaflewski's “Crossroads versus Roundabouts“.
