Galerie Förster - Contemporary Art and Interaction

RAY MALONE
In both the 'Dimension' and 'Meridian' series of painting, the British artist explores our perception of tonal variation. This work needs time to allow the subtlety of the form to reveal itself. The gestural charcoal drawings reference the structure of music. The lines of charcoal are similar to a musician's variations on a musical phrase or figure.

JOHN POLLAK
He devoted himself to street photography during his New York years. The subjects, being unaware of the camera, are seen 'undisguised', giving these portraits a particular atmosphere. As well as his portraiture he was constantly looking for abstract motifs, which he discovered in the architecture as well as in ordinary everyday items.

ALVIN BOOTH
The process of production and the combining of inner and outer worlds is what fuels him like all artists. His props are simple: paint, latex, bodies, movement and, most of all, light. Shooting and developing are private, purposefully isolated activities of long hours and intense focus.
