AB Projct - Painting Techniques from Argnetine to BerlinThe gallery was inaugurated four years ago in Argentine and opened its Berlin location in 2006. Through the juxtaposition of German and Argentinean artists, the gallery explores the innovative techniques pursued by each group: while both may share a common subject, Argentinean artists such as Péréz and Esquivel follow a form of painting that originates from the very material they work with. The German artist Emily Pütter, on the other hand, creates large-scale paintings using a technique called “action drawing,” and her work is often subject to chance.Pérez’ paintings are auctioned at Christie’s regularly. Emily Pütter has curated and participated in the auction ‘Kunst des Gedächtnisses’ in September 2008. | |
